1. President Obama commuted 1 the 25 years prison sentence of Chelsea Manning, freeing her in May. Manning acknowledged leaking diplomatic cables and national security documents to Wikileaks for publication in 2010. Wikileaks' editor Julian Assange said on Twitter last week he will surrender to U.S authorities if Manning got clemency 2.
2. President-elect Donald Trump 3 welcomed nearly 150 diplomats 4, plus donors 5 and incoming White House staffers to a dinner in Washington.
3. Orlando, Florida police caught the man accused of shooting and killing 6 an Orlando police officer last week. Markys Loyde was wearing body armor and carrying two handguns when he surrendered.
4. And a sinkhole nearly swallowed a truck in a parking lot northeast of Atlanta. Local officials say all pipes beneath the parking lot apparently 7 rusted 8 away and caved in.
