BP is using robots to slice away a broken pipe so engineers can put a cap over the well's opening. 2. Afghan President Hamid Karzai is hosting a peace conference, appealing to the Taliban to make peace, saying that will lead to the departure of foreign troops from the country. 4. Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama has announced he's resigning. He made the announcement today after breaking a campaign promise to move a US marine 4 base off the southern island of Okinawa. The prime minister was facing growing pressure from within his own party to resign ahead of July elections.
