1. BP CEO Tony Hayward is expected to appear before a House panel today. Hayward plans to tell Congress he's personally devastated 1 by the Gulf 2 oil spill. Hayward says BP has spent nearly 1.5 billion since the rig disaster, and adds BP won't stop until the job is done.
2. The chairman of BP has apologized for saying the energy giant cares about small people hurt by the Gulf oil spill. Carl-Henric Svanberg made the remark after meeting with President Barack Obama. Svanberg says he understands how deeply the spill has affected 3 people who live along the Gulf Coast.
3. The union for striking pilots at Spirit Airlines says it has reached a tentative agreement with the Airline. Spirit has been grounded since pilots walked out Saturday over a pay dispute. It's unclear when Spirit will be back in the air, but the pilot union says it hopes it is as soon as possible.
4. Golf's second major of the year tees off today. The US Open starts at Pebble 4 Beach. Phil Mickelson is trying to win his second major of the year after winning the Masters in April. Lucas Glover is the reigning 5 champion.
