Political tensions in Thailand have given way to fresh violence. Authorities say explosions and an overnight shooting attack on anti-government demonstrators in Thailand’s capital have killed at least two people this morning. Another 22 have been wounded. Last week, the Constitutional Court removed caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra for nepotism 1. Nine Cabinet ministers were also dismissed. But the protesters are demanding the elimination 2 of all influence of the Shinawatra family.
