There's an expression in English, "the early bird gets the worm 1." 英语里有句话，“早起的鸟儿有虫吃”。
The early bird gets the worm, "worm." 早起的鸟儿才能找到虫子（worm）。
A worm, "worm," is a little animal that birds eat. The worms 2 live in the ground. 虫子（worm）是鸟儿吃的一种小动物，生活在泥土里。
The idea is that if you get up early, you will get more done - you will get things that other people don't get because they get up later. 这句话的意思是，如果早起，你可以多做很多事，你会得到其他人得不到的东西，因为他们起得晚。
So, the early bird gets the worm. 所以说，早起的鸟儿有虫吃。
Well, Lucy is not eating worms, but she does like to take a "few extra minutes to get going in the morning." 露西不吃虫子，但她喜欢“待几分钟再开始新的一天。”
To get going means 3 to get active - to start doing things. 开始新的一天，意思是动起来，开始做事情。
"One reason," she says, "it’s so hard to get up is" that her "bedroom and her bed are so comfortable." 她说，“起床困难的一个原因”是她的“卧室和床太舒服了。”
She has a very nice, comfortable bed. 她有一张非常舒服的床。
She says that she "splurged and bought a bed with very soft, thick mattress 4" - a very soft, thick mattress. 她说她“花大价钱买了个床，床垫又软又厚”，很软也很厚的床垫。
Lucy said she splurged, the verb 5 to splurge, "splurge," means to spend a lot of money, even when it isn't necessary. 露西说她“花了大价钱”，花大价钱（splurge）意思是花很多钱，甚至花没有必要的钱。
So, you want to buy something nice for yourself, you don't need it, it's not necessary but you want it. 通常是你想给自己买好东西，但是你并不需要这个东西，也就是没有必要但是你很想要的东西。
So, she spends a lot of money - she splurges - and buys a very nice bed that has a nice, thick mattress. 所以她花了很多钱——她花大价钱——买了很好的床，还有很厚的床垫。
A mattress, "mattress," is the part of the bed that you actually sleep on. 床垫（mattress）是床的一部分，你要在上边睡觉。
Usually, a mattress is something that has springs in it - pieces of metal that go up and down that allow your body to be comfortable. 通常，床垫里边有弹簧（这种金属零件可以上下活动，让你身体很舒服）。
So, this is a thick mattress - a big mattress - but it is also a soft mattress, so that you can lay down on the bed and it feels good on your body. 所以，这是一个很厚的床垫，也很大，但是也很软，这样你才可以躺在床上觉得很舒服。
The opposite of a soft mattress is a hard mattress. 软床垫的相对词是硬床垫。
