I would like to explain the key features of the UK economic policy framework, identify the key institutions, their leaders and their main responsibilities. There are three main institutions. The first is HM Treasury 1 which is responsible for the overall economic framework and for fiscal 2 policy in particular. It is led by the Chancellor 3, Gordon Brown who is an elected politician.
