When the mailman 1 reached a post-box by the side of a country road, a little girl was playing in the yard. 邮递员来到乡村路边的一个邮箱，一个小姑娘正在院子里玩耍。
"Did you bring my letter?" she asked eagerly, as she came running to the automobile 2. 有我的信吗？她跑到车子旁急切地问道。
"I think so, Mary Ellen,"answered the mailman, smiling. 玛丽·艾伦，好像有，邮递员笑着回答道。
First he gave the little girl a letter for her father. 首先邮递员给了小姑娘一封给她父亲的信。
Next he gave her a paper for her mother. 接着他给了她一个给她母亲的文件。
Last of all, he gave her an envelope with her name on it. 最后，给了她一个上面写着她的名字的信封。
"Oh, thank you," said Mary Ellen, as she hugged her envelope and ran into the house. 哦，谢谢你，玛丽·艾伦边说边抱着自己的信封跑进了屋里。

The valentine felt small fingers opening the envelope, and it peeked 3 out a bit. 情人节贺卡感到有小手指正在拆开信封，它往外偷看了一眼。

It had reached the end of its journey. 此时它也到达了旅途的终点。
