1. The Iraq war veteran accused fatally shooting five people and wounding six at a crowded Florida airport baggage claim appeared in court on Monday morning. 26-year old Esteban Santiago in Anchorage, Alaska, faces airport violence and firearm charges that can mean the death penalty if convicted.
2. Donald Trump 1 says he is confident his cabinet picks will be confirmed by the senate. Trump comments as he wrapped up two meetings with former business leaders and senate majority leader Mitch McConnell.
3. A massive manhunt is underway in Orlando as authorities search for a man accused of shooting and killing 2 a police officer. The shooting occurred near a Wal-Mart store. The suspect has been identified as Markeith Loyd.
4. And keepers at a Rome zoo tried to warm up the animals as the Italian city hoops 3 with the frigid 4 temperatures. Animals were fed a fare of hot food and heaters have been installed in closures to keep them warm.
