今天我们要请大家一起来乘船，因为在这次节目里我们要给大家讲解两个都跟"船"这个字有关的习惯用语。那么，"船"在英文里叫什么呢？Boat。
要是大家都上了船，那我们就能说：All in the same boat. All in the same boat就是我们今天要讲的第一个习惯用语。按字面上来解释，all in the same boat就是：大家都在同一条船上。既然大家都在一条船上，那么要是船出事，大家都会掉进水里。这就是all in the same boat这个俗语的意思，就是指：几个处境相同、面对同样困难或危险的人，他们的命运也会相同的。我们来举个例子。这个例子是说一个小城镇，那里唯一的工厂被关闭了。
例句-1: When the steel 1 plant shut down, the town's people were all in the same boat. The workers had no jobs, and this meant the shops had no business. It was really tough 2 all around.

我们现在再给大家介绍一个以boat这个字为主的习惯用语：To miss the boat.
Miss就是失去的意思。 To miss the boat从字面来解释，它的意思是：误了上船的时间。但是，作为俗语，to miss the boat就是失去了一个好机会。下面这个例子是说一对夫妇由于耽误了时间而失去了买一栋房子的机会。这位丈夫说：
例句-3: We found exactly the house we wanted, but we waited to buy it in the hope the price would go down. But we missed the boat; when we called the agent back, he'd just sold it to another family.
