When we invite people over for dinner at 6:30, it is not uncommon 1 for my wife to have dinner ready at 6:30 如果我们邀请人们6点半参加聚会，通常情况下我的妻子会在6点半把晚餐准备好。
If you are attending a dinner, you don't want to be the person who is noticeably late. 如果你参加晚宴，最好不要是那个来的太晚的。

If they decline 6 your offer, simply say, "I would enjoy helping 7 you clean up.Would you please allow me to help you?"  如果他们拒绝了，你可以说：“我想帮忙收拾。就让我帮忙好吗？”
When they accept your offer, help them clean up until the job is finished or until your host wants to take a break. 如果他们同意了，帮他们一直收拾完或者主人想休息一下，你也可以中间休息。
If they decline your help because they would rather continue the conversation in another room, ask them again when the party is over. 如果他们因为想去另一间房聊天而谢绝了，那么聚会结束时再问一次。
