 In order to develop or improve any area of your life, you need to do three things: 无论想要改进生活的哪些方面，你都要做下面三件事：

1. You need to know your starting point. This is often referred to as your benchmark or baseline—the point from which all progress is measured. 1.不忘初衷。这通常是行动基准或底线——因为所有的进步都基于此。

3. You need to determine how you are going to measure your progress. 3.你要决定如何评价自己的进步。
If you wanted to reduce your spending and save money, it would be wise to carry a small notepad and write down everything thing you buy and the price you paid. 如果你想节省开支，那最好随身带一个小笔记本，记下你买的所有东西和价格。
Whether in business, sports, school, or any area of life, you can’t improve what you don’t measure. 不管是在工作中，在运动场上，在学校里还是在生活的各个方面，如果你不对自己做出评价你就不能进步。
When you track and measure your results each month, you will have new benchmarks that you can strive 2 to improve upon the next month. 每月对自己的长进的评价就是为下个月的提高设立新的基准。
