A manhunt is underway in Northern Illinois after a police officer was shot and killed in a village around fifty miles northwest of Chicago. NPR's SK reports police say they are searching for three suspects. Authorities have locked down schools, blocked roads and are using helicopters and dogs ,set a search for three armed suspects, two white men and a black man continues in areas around * Illinois. The spokesman for the sheriff's office says it was a little before eight in the morning when one of the village's police officers radioed in that he had made contact with the man whom he described as suspicious and was in a foot pursuit.
