The Austin, Texas police chief says he considers a 25-minute cell-phone recording 1 from bombing suspect Mark Anthony Conditt to be a confession 2. Authorities removed homemade explosives from his residence.


Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg apologized for what he called a major breach 3 of trust. He outlined in a CNN interview steps that Facebook is taking to protect users after a firm's use of information improperly 4 obtained from fifty million Facebook users.


Congress could begin voting on Thursday on a new sweeping 5 1.3 trillion dollar budget. It substantially boosts military and domestic spending, but includes no deal on immigrant "dreamers".


The big northeast snowstorm dropped snow on New England on Wednesday night and early Thursday. The storm left more than a foot of snow in the areas of Pennsylvania, but less in the big east coast cities.
