Charlie Gard has died following a battle with a rare genetic 2 disease. The terminally ill 11-month-old attracted international attention when his parents fought the hospital over his care. Yesterday a British judge ruled that the child be transferred to hospice and taken off life support.
A state of emergency exists for Ocracoke and Hatteras Islands, North Carolina after construction company cut a major powerline to the islands. A handful of tourists remain on Ocracoke. Local businesses expect big financial losses.
In Kazakhstan, a Soyuz space capsule successfully blasted off for the International Space Station. The capsule carries an American, a Russian and an Italian space traveller.
