1. It's official: BP CEO Tony Hayward will step down as about October 1st. He will be succeeded by American Bob Dudley a first for BP. Meantime, the oil giant has released its earnings 1, saying it lost 17 billion dollars in the second quarter. Same quarter last year, BP made four billion.
2. The Obama administration continues its damage control after more than 90,000 classified Afghanistan war documents were leaked over the weekend. The White House calls the leak alarming. However, it is not expected to prevent passage of a 60-billion-dollar war funding bill.
3. Rod Blagojevich's lawyer could find himself behind bars if he tries to keep his client out of prison. A judge in Chicago warned Sam Adam Jr. about what he can say in his closing argument to which Adam responded "I will go to jail over this." Adam starts his close today.
4. Singer Wyclef Jean is considering a run for president of Haiti. Wyclef was born in Port au Prince, but grew up in New York. He's been active in recent years in raising money for Haiti. He has until August 7th to declare
