Shirley Sherrod says Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has offered her a different position in the department. Vilsack says he acted hastily when he dismissed her and she has accepted his apology. Sherrod says she is considering Vilsack's offering.
2. President Obama has signed a contentious 1 financial regulation reform bill into law. The president says the law brings an end to taxpayer 2 bailouts of companies that take too many risks. 3. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke sent markets for a tumble after his comments to a Senate panel. He told lawmakers the economic outlook remained unusually uncertain. But he says the Federal Reserve has no immediate 3 plans to intervene.
4. Attorneys for ousted 4 Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich rested their case without calling him to the stand. Outside the court house, lawyers insisted there was no reason to call Blagojevich because the prosecution 5 had not proved its case. The jury will return on Monday
