Shirley Sherrod says Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has offered her a different position in the department. Vilsack says he acted hastily when he dismissed her and she has accepted his apology. Sherrod says she is considering Vilsack's offering.

4. Attorneys for ousted 4 Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich rested their case without calling him to the stand. Outside the court house, lawyers insisted there was no reason to call Blagojevich because the prosecution 5 had not proved its case. The jury will return on Monday
