　　D: I am good, I almost didn't recognize you, you sound so polite on the phone!!

　　D: How was the movie you watched?

　　你看的片子怎么样？

　　A: It was really good! It was a scary movie called *****. By the way that is what I want to talk to you about today.

　　特好，恐怖片，顺便说一下，今天我们谈谈电影吧

　　D: No problem what type of things do you want to know?

　　没问题，你想知道什么？

　　A: Well first what is the name of the person who makes the movie?

　　拍电影的人用英语怎么说？

　　D: That is an interesting question; do you mean the person who films the movie or the person who tells all the actors what to do?

　　有趣。你是说演电影的还是告诉演员们做什么的？

　　A: Both I guess.

　　都有

　　D: Well the person who controls the camera is called the cameraman and the person who tells the actors what to do is called the director.

　　拿摄像机的叫cameraman,告诉演员们做什么的叫director

　　A: Oh that's right I forgot. How do you say it when an actor is in a movie?

　　是的，那演员们演电影该怎么说啊？

　　D: we usually say the actor is starring in a movie.

　　我们常用starring这个词

　　A: What are your favorite types of movies Drew?

　　你最喜欢什么类型的片子？

　　D: My favorite genre 1 of movies is…

　　我最喜欢的类型是。。。。

　　A: Genre

　　Genre是什么意思？

　　D: Genre means type or style, like horror, action, romance 2, drama or sci-fi…

　　就是类型，比如说，恐怖片，动作片，爱情片，感情片，或是科幻

　　A: sci-fi?

　　Sci-fi是什么意思？

　　D: Science fiction, movies about space and the future…but back to the original question, my favorite genre of movies is horror, I like to be scared.

　　是science fiction的缩写，是关于宇宙和未来的，回到刚才的问题上，我最喜欢恐怖片，我喜欢被惊吓

　　A: Not me, I guess I like romance movies, they are fun to watch with my girlfriend, but I guess I like all types of movies, I own maybe a hundred.

　　我可不喜欢，我最喜欢爱情片，和女朋友一起看最好了。我喜欢所有的类型，我有一百多部片子

　　D: You're quite the movie buff aren't you Allan?

　　你是彻底的影迷，是吗？

　　A: What does that mean?

　　什么意思？

　　D: It means you know a lot about movies and you have seen quite a large number of them.

　　就是说你很懂电影并且看过很多片子

　　A: That's me!!

　　是的

　　D: What is your favorite movie Allan?

　　最喜欢看哪部片子？

　　A: It is sleepless 3 in Seattle, have you seen it?

　　西亚图不眠夜，看过吗？

　　D: No I haven't, but I think I will go rent it tonight!

　　没有，不过今晚我要去祖一部来看看

　　A：I'll give it 2 thumbs up.

　　我给它打满分

　　D: Well, yeah! Hey Allan I have to run, I'll talk to you tomorrow.

　　是的，嘿，Allan,我得走了，明天再聊吧

　　解释{1}作为名词，star表示星星，电影明星用英语讲就是movie star.作为动词时它表示演电影，类似的说法还有who played the role?{2}genre，这是一个法语词，在国外，人们用它来表示电影类型，当然我们也可以用type，可是，入乡随俗。让自己听起来更地道。通常的电影类型包括sci-fi科幻，romance,爱情片action,动作片，horror恐怖片, drama,情感片chick flick 4浪漫喜剧片, indie独立制作片和blue movies黄色电影等{3}movie buff表示影迷，也可以说成movie fan{4}在西方，碟片很贵，难怪老外们通常都会租片子看{5}2 thumbs up表示电影很棒，如果不好的话，就说2 thumbs down.
