Lesson34 Too Tired To Have a Holiday
Mary Williams lived alone 1 and had 2 a very important 3 job in a company 4. Sheworked very hard. She often worked late. And she even 5 worked on weekends.
Jill Thomas was 6 Mary's best friend, but Jill was married 7, and she did 8 notwant to work all the time. "I'm quite happy at home with Len when we are notworking,'she always said 9. "I want to enjoy my life 10.'
Jill and Len both enjoyed hiking 11 and dancing very much. Nearly 12 every weekendthey went hiking and dancing. Then they would 13 go and dance through theevening. When they had their holidays, they would climb mountains, swim andsail on lakes and dance nearly all the time.
Once Jill said to Mary, "Would you like to have a holiday with us this year,Mary?" Mary was very happy, so Jill and Mary and Len had two weeks together.
Mary enjoyed her holiday, but she was very tired after they had climbed allthe mountains, swam and danced every day and every night.
The next summer, Jill offered 14 to take Mary on their holiday again.
"Thank you very much," answered Mary, "but I'm going 15 to be quite honest 16 withyou: I'm sorry that I can't come, because I've worked a lot this year andI'm tired. I don't need a holiday: I need to rest!"
