　　President-elect Barack Obama has named retired 1 four-star general James Jones to be his national security advisor 2. Mr. Obama says General Jones has the skills to bring together all elements of U.S. power to defeat unconventional enemies and promote American values.

　　General Jones will be part of a foreign policy team that will include Defense 15 Secretary Robert Gates, a carry-over from the Bush administration, and Hillary Clinton as secretary of state.
