第一个是: have a lot on the ball。Have a lot on the ball这个习惯用语可能来自棒球赛或者网球赛。 好,我们来听听这段话,体会一下其中have a lot on the ball含义是什么。

例句-1:True, Susan hasn't published a book for ten years. But I believe she still has a lot on the ball as a writer. And I'm sure the critics will see that when her new book comes out this winter.

它就是: start the ball rolling。

2:Mr. Smith starts the ball rolling by telling the group about his own painful experience with drugs. This loosens people up and they tell their own stories and keep the ball rolling.

也就是务必in the ballpark。

3:According to my ballpark figure the monthly mortgage payment is about $1400. Since both of us work I think we can handle it okay. So, what do you say -- should we go ahead and buy the place?
