◆你住在哪儿?
误：Where’s your address?
正：What’s your address? / Where do you live 2?
析：若误句要视为正句, 只能理解为：写有你的地址的纸条放在哪?
◆他就这个问题向学生发表讲话。
误：He addressed 3 to the students 4 on this subject 5.
正：He addressed the students on this subject.
析：用作动词的 address 无论表示“讲话”、“致辞”，还是表 示“写地址”，或表示“称呼”等，均为及物动词。又如:The letter 6 is addressed to me.(这信是写给我的)，这里要用被 动语态，其中的助动词 is 不能省略。
