One night a hotel caught fire,and the people who were staying in it ran 1 out in their night clothes.
Two men stood 2 outside and looked at the fire.
"Before I came 3 out," said 4 one,"I ran into some of the rooms and found 5 a lot of money. People don't think of money when they're afraid. When anyone 6 leaves 7 paper money in a fire, the fire burns 8 it. So I took 9 all the bills 10 that I could 11 find.No one will be poorer because I took them."
"You don't know my work?" said the other.
"What is your work?"
"I'm a policeman.
"Oh!" cried the first man. He thought 12 quickly and said,"And do you know my work?""No,"said the policeman.
"I'm a writer 13. I'm always telling stories about things that never happened."
