　　"Which I simply don't believe," Lenina concluded.
　　“关于他那话我根本就不信。”列宁娜下了结论。

　　“一万四千架飞机列队飞行的轰鸣。
　　But in the Kurfurstendamm and the Eighth Arrondissement, the explosion of the anthrax bombs is hardly louder than the popping of a paper bag."
　　但是炭疽菌弹在库福思腾丹和法国第八郡爆炸的声音并不比拍破一个纸口袋大。”
　　"Because I do want to see a Savage 1 Reservation."
　　“我的确想去参观参观蛮族保留地。”

　　Back turned to back, Fanny and Lenina continued their changing in silence.
　　范尼和列宁娜背对着背，在寂静中继续对嘴。

　　“九年战争，经济大崩溃。
　　There was a choice between World Control and destruction. Between stability and …"
　　只能够做选择：或者控制世界或者让它毁灭。或者稳定或者……。”
　　"Fanny Crowne's a nice girl too," said the Assistant Predestmator.
　　“范尼·克朗也是个可爱的姑娘。”命运预定局局长助理说。
　　In the nurseries, the Elementary Class Consciousness lesson was over, the voices were adapting future demand to future industrial supply.
　　幼儿园里，阶级意识基础课已经上完，那声音是想让未来的工业供应与需求相适应。
　　"I do love flying," they whispered, "I do love flying, I do love having new clothes, I do love …"

　　“可她的灵气跟列宁娜差远了，哦，差远了。”
　　"But old clothes are beastly," continued the untiring whisper. " We always throw away old clothes. Ending is better than mending, ending is better thast mending, ending is better …"
　　“但是旧衣服报讨厌，”不疲倦的低声继续说着，“我们总是把旧衣服扔掉。扔掉比修补好，扔掉比修补好，扔掉比……”
　　"Government's an affair of sitting, not hitting.
　　“管理得坐着干，不能够打人。
　　You rule with the brains and the buttocks, never with the fists. For example, there was the conscription of consumption."
　　你得用头脑、用屁股，而不是用拳头。比如，促进消费。”
　　"There, I'm ready," said Lenina, but Fanny remained speechless and averted 6. "Let's make peace, Fanny darling."
　　“行了，我已经准备好接受他的邀请。”列宁娜说，范尼仍然一言不发，身子扭到一边。“咱俩讲和吧，范尼，亲爱的。”
