抛招1：The warning 1 notices near the river have not just been put up for fun, but must be taken seriously. 河边竖起的警告牌可不是闹着玩的，要认真对待。
抛招2：Just for laughs they tossed 2 Mary in the swimming with all her clothes on. Then they found out she didn't know how to swim. 就是为了开玩笑，他们把Mary连衣服带鞋整个扔进了游泳池，结果他们发现Mary根本不会游泳。
接招：上面的2个例句中用到了2个意思相同、类似结构和功能相同的短语，它们分别是：for fun和for laughs。它们的意思都是“开玩笑地”“闹着玩地”“为了取乐”“作为消遣”“借以开心”。短语中介词for表原因，fun的意思是“有趣开心的事情”，laugh是“笑声，笑料”的意思。它们都是副词性短语，在句子中作原因状语。不同的是第二个短语中的名词laugh要使用其复数形式，即laughs才正确。
我们通过下面的例句来熟悉这2个短语的意思。
1. Come on and get your jacket——let's go out and have a couple of beers just for laughs. 来吧，穿上你的外套，我们到外面喝两杯啤酒高兴高兴。
2. I really enjoyed that movie last night. It won't win any prizes, but it has two funny guys in it that are worth watching just for laughs. 我很喜欢昨晚的那个电影。这个电影不见得会得什么奖，但是两个滑稽的角色值得一看,非常好玩。
3. What's the fuss 3? It's just for laughs babe. Lighten 4 up! 有什么大惊小怪的？这只是搞笑而已，小姐。放轻松点嘛！
4. He doesn't just write for fun; writing is his bread and butter. 他写作并不只是为了乐趣,那是他的谋生方式。
5. Although he had only entered the competition for fun, he won the second prize . 尽管他参加竞赛只是为了好玩，却得了个二等奖。
