2. Let us suppose that Mary hit John right between the eyes, what will he do? It's no doubt John wants to spend all his time with her and get to know about her better.我们假定John对Mary印象很深刻，John会如何呢？还用想吗？John当然是想花所有的时间进一步了解她。
In this sentence, hit sb right between the eyes means 1 "to have a strong affect on sb". 此句中hit sb right between the eyes意为对......印象深刻。也就是“没齿难忘”的意思。
注解1：suppose [səˈpəuz] 假设, 假定，认为，认定
Eg. What makes you suppose (that) I'm against it? 你根据什麽认为我反对这件事? （be against sth 发对、不赞成某事物）
It was widely supposed to have been lost during the war. 普遍认为那东西在战争期间丢失了。（It is widely supposed to do sth. 普片认为......）
Everyone supposes him poor, but he is really quite wealthy. 大家都以为他穷, 实际上他很阔。（suppose + 宾语+形容词 认为......如何 它实际上是省略了动词不定式中的to be 完整的为suppose him to be poor）
注解3：It's no doubt that +从句（从句是同位语从句，对前面的抽象性名词作补充说明，这个抽象性名词称为同位词。）
Eg. It's no doubt that we all have bad habits. 毫无疑问，我们都有不好的习惯。
It's no doubt that writing is his bounden duty. When stopped it, he suddenly became a sick man.毫无疑问，写作是他的天职。一旦停止写作，他立即成了病人。
There's no doubt that +从句 （从句是同位语从句，对前面的抽象性名词作补充说明，这个抽象性名词称为同位词。）
Eg. There's no doubt that it will help us to cure all sorts of illnesses. 毫无疑问它会帮助我们治愈各种疾病。
There's no doubt that he's the right person for the job. 毫无疑问，他是这份工作最合适的人选。
注解3：get to 逐渐 know about 了解
3. Mr. Monotone hit me right between the eyes with that shot 2, but I don't know about the other dozen people in the audience. 我不知道其余12位听众如何，但是“乏味先生”的结束语却如当头棒喝，让我瞬间醒悟。
注解1：the other dozen 其余12位
注解2：dozen [ˈdʌzən] n.(一)打，十二个audience [ˈɔ:diəns] n.听众，观众，读者
例句：His speech won the applause 3 of the audience.他的讲话赢得了听众的掌声。
He delighted the audience with his performance. 他用他的表演使观众喜悦。
The audience was no less than five thousand. 听众有五千人之多。（no less than 不下于；不少于）
注解3：此句中的with that shot中的shot是比喻的用法，这里是比喻非常有震撼力的言辞。
