今天我们要学习的是大家期待已久的课后功课——根据中文完成句子的精讲，从而使我们更好的掌握hit sb right between the eyes这个习语的运用。
我们来看看题目。中文句子是——我敢打赌,我在这些方程式上花了总总十分钟还没有得出答案。后来, 我突然想出了正确答案。英文句子如下：I I around these equations ten minutes but then all of a the right answer hit me between eyes. 英文句子中有7个空，需要填写的单词依次如下：bet，fooled，with，for，sudden，right和the。完整句子为——I bet I fooled around with these equations for ten minutes but then all of a sudden the right answer hit me right between the eyes. 我们掌握以下几个要点就可以顺利地完成这道题了。
第一，掌握fool around这个短语，它的意思是虚度光阴；浪费时间；瞎胡闹；做傻事；终日荒嘻等等。我们通过下面的例句来熟悉这个短语的用法。
Eg. The workers always fool around when the boss steps out. 当工头一走开，工人们就到处游荡不做事情了。
Eg.Mike fell and broke his leg, which teaches him but good not to fool around in the trees. Mike跌断了腿，给了他一个有力的教训，使他再也不敢在树上嬉戏了。
用fool around来表示荒废时间不做......，胡闹......，在......耗费时间，我们在fool around的后面用上介词with，即：fool around with sth。我们来看下面的例句：
Eg. Let's try to get it done and not fool around with the State Department. 我们尽力把事情办成，不要在国务院耗时间了。（get sth done 完成.... the State Department 美国国务院）
Eg.If you go to college, you must study seriously and not fool around with computer games. 如果你上大学，就一定要好好学习了，不要把时间荒废在电脑游戏上。
我们句中的fool around with these equations意思是指在考试的时候不会做这个方程式，在这个方程式上耗了很长的时间，但是做的都是无用功。
第二、掌握all of a sudden这个短语，它的意思是突然地，预料不到地，冷不防地等等，相当于suddenly，和它同意的短语还有all at once。我们来看下面的例句：
Eg. When the hall was filled with applause, all of a sudden, a man with rage rushed in and all the people were frightened out of their wits. 当满厅掌声雷动之时，突然一个气急败坏的人闯入，把人们吓得惊慌失措。（with rage adv. 盛怒地 out of one's wits adv. 不知所措地，be frightened out of one's wits/be scared out of one's wits/be stunned 1 out of one's wits 魂飞魄散，屁滚尿流，张皇失措，六神无主）
Eg.All of a sudden, the light went out. 突然，灯熄灭了。（go out 熄灭）
第三、Hit sb. right between the eyes这是一个习惯用语。不管主语是什么，不要使用物主代词one's 修饰eyes，一定是定冠词the修饰eyes。短语中的right是“正好”“恰好”的意思，可以省略，换句话说，就是可以用hit sb between the eyes。
第四、For 表示时间的持续，for ten minutes就是指时间持续了10分钟。
Bet是“打赌”的意思，它可以做名词也可以做动词。它的现在分词和过去式以及过去分词都是不规则的，分别是betting，bet，bet。Let's make a bet on the next election. 我们就下次的选举打个赌吧。（make a bet 打赌 make a bet on sth 就......打赌）
Bet还有确信的意思。“I bet。”这个短句意思是of course（当然）的意思。我们来看一个小对话：
A : Are you sure my daughter has fallen in love with Ricky, a bad guy? 你肯定我的女和还那个坏家伙Ricky谈恋爱了吗？
B: I bet. 当然啦。
我们再来看一个例句：I bet they've got held up in the traffic.我敢肯定他们一定是在路上因交通拥挤而受阻了。（get held up 受阻而无法前进）
