Listen Read Learn

Daniel: Mom, I'm starving 1.

Shirley: Here are some biscuits. Why are you back so early today?

Daniel: My teacher had a sudden 2 stomachache, so the class was cut shot 3. You?

Shirley: Me what?

Daniel: You are cooking at least two hours earlier than the usual.

Shirley: It's not for us.

Daniel: Then it's for Dad, isn't it? It's so unfair!

Shirley: Don't be a smarty-pants. It's for Grandma Wang.

Daniel: What was that again?

Shirley: It's for Grandma Wang. She is sick and her only daughter went abroad weeks ago. So she needs our help.

Daniel: I'm sorry, I didn't know that. But I wanna help.

Shirley: Umm, let me think for a moment. We can meet her together after I finish cooking.

Daniel: I'll get knee to knee with her.

Shirley: Good boy. I can only imagine how happy she will be to see you.

Recitation
Daniel: I am starving each time I come back home after school. My Mom would always give me some bland 4 biscuits to deal with it. I think if it was Daddy she would probably cook for him which is really unfair. So maybe I'd better learn how to cook for myself, or get a wife.

注释
Don't be a smarty-pants

I'll get knee to knee with her.
