英语词汇指导：leather与skin有何区别

两者均可表示“皮”，区别如下：
1. skin 主要指毛皮、兽皮、人的皮肤等。如：
Snakes cast their skin once a year. 蛇每年脱一次皮。
It takes 20 skins to make a overcoat. 做一件大衣要 20 张毛皮。
The woman has a beautiful skin. 这个女人皮肤很美。
She is only skin and bone. 她瘦得皮包骨。
注：skin 也可指水果的“皮”。如：
He slipped on a banana skin. 他踩在香蕉皮上滑倒了。
2. leather 主要指经过加工处理的“毛皮”(如用于服装业等)。如：
I don’t like leather gloves. 我不喜欢皮手套。
She bought him a leather jacket. 她为他买了一件皮夹克。
注：有时人们在该用 leather 的地方也用 skin。如：
The purse is made of crocodile skin. 这个皮包是用鳄鱼皮做的。
