[05:42.05]E-mail English is a new kind of English that many people use to save time.

[05:48.71]A lot of e-mail English words come from a computer program called ICQ,

[05:59.73]ICQ is an e-mail chatline that people use to send messages quickly.

[06:29.07]A message in e-mail English mostly uses two kinds of new words.

[06:35.44]The first kind is made up of the first letters of other words.

[06:41.01]These are called acronyms 3.

[06:44.66]The second kind is bomophones,

[06:48.82]letter combinations 4 and symbols that sound like other words.

[06:54.28]Acronyms in an e-mail save space and time.

[06:59.32]It takes a long time to write by the way.BTW is much faster.

[07:06.48]Other acronyms are F2F which stands for face to face,

[07:12.95]CSL for can't stop laugbing and DBEYR for don't believe everybing you read!

[07:36.20]Homophones often use letters and numbers that  sound like words or parts of words.
