This is AP News Minute.
The NRA says it's open to regulating "bump stocks" -- the device that allowed Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock to rain so much deadly firepower on his victims Sunday night. And the White House is saying President Donald Trump 1 welcomes a review of US policy on the devices.
Clark County Sheriff says Paddock spent decades acquiring weapons and living a secret life, much of which, he says, will never be fully 2 understood. He also said Paddock had 1600 rounds of ammunition 3 in his car and explosives. The motive 4 behind the massacre 5 remains 6 unclear.
A study just out from AAA says the explosion of information and entertainment technology in vehicles is contributing to more and more distracted driving on US roads. The study also says that technology is becoming more complicated, with as many as 50 buttons total on the steering 7 wheel and dashboard that are multifunctional.
A slobbering St. Bernard from South Dakota named "Mochi" now holds a Guiness World Record. For what? The longest tongue for a dog ever recorded. Just over 7.3 inches.
