Michigan state university president Lou Anna Simon resigned following an outcry over the school's handling of allegations against larry Nassar. Nassar worked at the school as a doctor and was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for molesting 4 young girls and women.
A sheriff's deputy was shot and killed just north of Denver on Wednesday night. At least one suspect was taken into custody 5. Authorities were searching for two more early Thursday.
And wildlife workers in South Florida had to catch a manatee 6 that was tangled 7 in a life vest. The manatee was brought onto land, untangled and returned to the water.
