Alright this is Dan Scarborough right here and this is Preston's dad. And I want you all to watch a... take a look at this. So this is your son in ... is that your car, Dan?

Yes, it is.

That's your car?

It's my wife's car.

Alright, well now it's her car, probably. Alright, he is in an episode of Cops or some because that's what he did. He just, he know to get out run like that, he didn't just stay in the car. Alright. I mean that was through town, right?

Yeah, it was, not much of the town. But it is a little town, it was through town.

Alright, let's get Preston out here to tell us what he will. Seven-year-old joyrider Preston Scarborough, come on now!

(cheers)

How are you?

Thanks.

Alright now. you are getting a lot of attention for this. But you know it was a bad thing. Right?

Yeah.

Have you been in a car before, driving?

Ah, no.

No, you have not driven. And how could possibly, how could you work the pedals and then see over the dashboard?

I was done, like this and I was, hop 1 my head out

And you weren't scared? I mean, did you almost hit things?

Nope.

You know what's funny was. The reason somebody called was he was driving down the road and he kinda swerved 2 to the other lane and came back and it happened to be the fire marshal, coming home and he just waved to the fire marshal as he was going by. So, we, I mean these are things we find out little bits and pieces over the past months you can find that kind of stuffs...

You waved to the fire marshal.

Yeah.

How small of a town is this?

Pretty s.. It is not really rural. but what I mean it’s pretty small, but we have a high school in the town and a couple of churches, things like that. So...

Who you've been waving at? Just people? Cause it's like... You are a friendly guy. At what point did you know you were in trouble 'cause it seemed like you understood when you got out and ran like hell. At what point did you know you were in trouble?

When I heard the sirens.

You heard sirens. And then did you look in the rear mirror and did you see them behind you?

Yeah.

So then did you floor it? Or how did you, did you, you started going faster to get and then you... how far away from home were you when you started heading back?

I think...

A couple of miles.

Yeah.

couple of miles

Alright, and had you seen an episode of Cops? How did you know to get out of the car and run like that?

We'd like to know too.

Yeah I mean, didn't you think you should stay put or something when somebody's chasing you? No. Alright. So you got grounded, right?

Yeah.

And what else happened to you?

No video games, no TV, for a week.

No, we got a lot of flak over there. We got a lot of flak. He was grounded for a lot longer than that. He got... probably just takeaway for a month.

You think he was. He was only in for a week, he probably went on rides. you have no idea.

But what we know.

Right. So he was grounded for a month.

Yes he was.

Alright
