SECENE 1

Harry 1: He killed my parents, didn’t he, the one who gave me 2)this? You know Hagrid, I know you do.

Hagrid: First, and understand this, Harry, ’cause it’s very important. Not all wizards are good. Some of them go bad. A few years ago there was one wizard who went as bad as you can go. And his name was V... His name was V...

Harry: Maybe if you wrote it down.

Hagrid: No I can’t spell it. Alright, Voldemort.

Harry: Voldemort?

Hagrid: Shh. It was dark times Harry, dark times. Voldemort started a 3)garrison 2 force. Brought’em over to the dark side. Anyone that stood up to him ended up dead. Your parents fought against him, but nobody lived once he decided 3 to kill him. Nobody, not one, except you.

Harry: Me? Voldemort tried to kill, me?

Hagrid: Yes. That ain’t no ordinary cut on your forehead Harry. A mark like that only comes from being touched by a curse and an evil curse at that.

Harry: What happened to...You-Know-Who?

Hagrid: Well some say he died. Canceled out in my opinion. Nope, I 4)reckon he’s out there still. Too tired to carry on. But one thing’s absolutely certain, something about you 5)stumped him that night. That’s why you’re famous. That’s why everybody knows your name. You’re the boy who lived.

SECENE 2

Madame Hooch: Good afternoon class.

Students: Good afternoon, Madame Hooch.

Madame Hooch: Good afternoon, my loves, good afternoon. Welcome to your first flying lesson. Well what are you waiting for? Everyone step up to the left side of their broom stick. Come on now hurry up. Stick your right hand over the broom and say “up”.

Students: Up! Up!...

Madame Hooch: With feel!

(Harry’s broom jumps to his hand at once. But Hermione’s broom only takes a roll on the ground. Ron’s broom jumps and bumps his nose, which makes Harry laugh.)

Ron: Pull up Harry.

Madame Hooch: Now, once you’ve got hold of your broom I want you to mount it and grip it tight. You don’t want to be sliding off the end. When I blow my whistle I want each of you to kick off from the ground hard, keep your broom steady, 6)hover 5 for a moment and lean forward slightly and touch back down. On my whistle, three, two...

(Neville Longbottom flies away immediately. He cries aloud for he’s so nervous and frightened.)

Neville: OH!

Madame Hooch: Mr. Longbottom. Mr... Mr. Longbottom! Mr. Longbottom!

SECENE 3

Professor Flitwick: One of a wizard’s most 7)rudimentary skills is 8)levitation 6. What? The ability to make objects fly. Ah, do you have your feathers? Good! Now don’t forget the nice wrist movement we’ve been practicing. The 9)swish and 10)flick 7. Everyone and...

Students: And swish and flick.

Professor Flitwick: Good. Oh, and 11)enunciate 8 “Wingardium Leviosa” off you go then.

Ron: Wingardium Leviosa, Wingar-dium Leviosa...

Hermione: Stop, stop, stop. You’re going to take someone’s eye out. Besides you’re saying it wrong. It’s “Leviosa” not “Leviosaa”.

Ron: You do it then if you’re so clever. Go on, go on.

Hermione: Wingardium Leviosa.

(With her speaking hardly finished, the feather flies up.)

Professor Flitwick: Oh, well done. See here everyone, Miss Granger’s done it. Splendid!

Neville: Wingardium Leviosa, Wing...

(Neville and Harry’s feather burns to black ashes with a big explosion.)

Harry: Oh, I think we’re going to need another feather up here professor.

SECENE 4

Announcer: Hello and welcome to Hogwarts’ first Quidditch game of the season. Today’s game, Slytherine versus 9 Gryffindor. The players take their positions as Madame Hooch steps out onto the field to begin the game.

Madame Hooch: Now I want a nice clean game, from all of you.

Announcer: The Bludgers are up, followed by the Golden Snitch. Remember the 12)Snitch is worth 150 points. The Seeker who catches the Snitch ends the game. The Quaffle is released and the game begins.

Announcer: Angelina Johnson scores! Ten points for Griffindor.

Harry: Yes!

Hagrid: Well done!

Announcer: Slytherin takes possession of the Quaffle. Bletchley passes it to captain Marcus Flint.

(Harry catches the Snitich with his mouth.)

Hagrid: Looks like he’s gonna be sick.

Announcer: He’s got the Snitch. Harry Potter receives 150 points for catching 10 the Snitch!

(Madame Hooch blows the whistle.)

Madame Hooch: Griffindor wins!

SECENE 5

Hermione: Of course here it is. Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker 11 of the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Ron: What?

Ron: Immortal?

Hermione: It means you never die.

Ron: I know what it means!

Harry: Shh! The only stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicolas Flamel the new alchemist, who last year celebrated 15 his 665th birthday. That’s what Fluffy’s guarding on the third floor. That’s what’s under the 14)trapdoor - the sorcerer’s stone.

SCENE 6

Professor Dumbledore: Another year has gone. And now as I understand it the House Cup needs awarding. Recent events must be taken into account. And I have a few last minute points to award. To Ms. Hermione Granger, for the cool use of intellect while others were in grave 15)peril 16, 50 points. Second, to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years, 50 points. And third, to Mr. Harry Potter for pure nerve and outstanding courage. I award Gryffindor House 60 points.

Hermione: We tied with Slytherine!

Professor Dumbledore: And finally it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. I award 10 points to Neville Longbottom. Assuming that my calculations are correct I believe that a change of decoration is in order. (He flaps his hand and all the green, silver flags with a Slytherine serpent on them on the top of the hall turn to red, gold with a Gryffindor lion.) Gryffindor wins the house cup.CE
