Words hold great power. Some people don’t mind the word diet.To others, it spells torture and deprivation 1. If you’re in this group，don’t tell yourself you’re“going on a diet.”Say you’re“starting a new eating plan" or“cutting down on calories.”Members of Overeaters Anonymous(OA)，for example，say they are‘"abstaining from、overeating."
文字有着极大的力量。有些人介意“节食”这个字眼，但对某些人来说，这个词却意味着痛苦与剥夺。如果你是属于后者，就不要告诉自己你在“节食”。要说你“正要开始一项新的饮食计划”或“在减少卡路里的摄取量”。例如，暴食匿名会的会员都说他们在“戒除暴食。”
But don’t avoid the word diet altogether.Just change your opinion of the word.Think of a diet as a way of doing something great for yourself-not as a form of deprivation. Tell yourself you’re "cleansing 3 your body from the inside out,freeing yourself of fat.”
不过可不要完全避开“节食”这个字眼，只要改变你对这个词的看法即可。要把“节食”当作是为自己做一件很棒的事，而不是一种剥夺。告诉自己你在“进行体内环保，让自己脱离脂肪的束缚。”
