“毯星”指的是那些在各大国际电影节上衣着高调走红毯，却两手空空、没有作品的女明星。

5月18日晚，首富王健林之子、“为娱乐圈操碎了心”的王思聪转发了一条讽刺走红毯女星的微博，称“某冰某予”为"毯星"（red carpet moochers），根本无作品且不会演戏，火起来主要靠绯闻（rumors）、水军(water army)和炒作（play the publicity 3 stunt）。
“毯星”之说一出，即刻成为微博最热门话题（the most talked about topic）。当下不少女明星通过各种形式拿到各大国际电影节的入场券，再穿着夸张的服饰出现在红毯，流连忘返希望增加话题度（hang around to be noticed），甚至上头条（make a splash）。这就有了本届戛纳影展上的东北大花袄(floral print gown)和外媒笔下的身份不明来宾（unidentified guests）。
