第371期:这才是霍金留给我们每个人最大的财富

 　　霍金真的走的，我一开始是拒绝相信的，直到我看到了各种平台的各种推文。霍金的伟大不仅仅在于他在科学上的成就，从一个人的角度来讲，他是非常了不起的。试想想，任何一个身患残疾，整日坐在轮椅上，不能自理的人来说，还能实现自己的人生价值，这种成就，这种乐观和顽强，是他永远留给我们的财富。今天我摘选了霍金曾经说过的一些话，我们一起来学习一下。

　　1. ON DISABILITIES
　　"If you are disabled, it is probably not your fault, but it is no good blaming the world or expecting it to take pity on you. One has to have a positive attitude and must make the best of the situation that one finds oneself in; if one is physically 1 disabled, one cannot afford to be psychologically disabled as well. In my opinion, one should concentrate on activities in which one's physical disability will not present a serious handicap. I am afraid that Olympic Games for the disabled do not appeal to me, but it is easy for me to say that because I never liked athletics 2 anyway. On the other hand, science is a very good area for disabled people because it goes on mainly in the mind. Of course, most kinds of experimental work are probably ruled out for most such people, but theoretical work is almost ideal. My disabilities have not been a significant handicap in my field, which is theoretical physics. Indeed, they have helped me in a way by shielding me from lecturing and administrative 3 work that I would otherwise have been involved in. I have managed, however, only because of the large amount of help I have received from my wife, children, colleagues and students. I find that people in general are very ready to help, but you should encourage them to feel that their efforts to aid you are worthwhile by doing as well as you possibly can."

　　1.关于残疾
　　如果你患有残疾，这也许不是你的错，但抱怨社会，或指望他人的怜悯，毫无益处。一个人要有积极的态度，要最大限度地利用现状。生理上有残疾的人，可不能再让自己在心理上也残疾了。在我看来，一个人应该专注于不受到身体残疾严重影响的活动。恐怕残奥会对我没有吸引力，我可以很轻松这么说，因为我从来就不喜欢体育运动。另一方面，科学对残疾人来说是一个非常好的领域，因为它主要是在头脑中进行的。当然，大多数的实验工作可能对于这类人来说是不可能的，但是理论工作几乎是理想的。我的残疾并没有在我的的领域里形成重大的障碍，那就是理论物理。事实上，他们在某种程度上帮助了我，使我不受上课和行政工作的影响，否则我可能会深陷其中。不过，我已经设法从我的妻子、孩子、同事和学生那里得到了大量的帮助。我发现一般人都乐于助人，但你应该鼓励让他们觉得尽可能地尽力帮助你是值得的。
