实战口语情景对话 第265期:Trip to the Hospital 去医院

 Adrienne: Hey, Ian, tell me about the time you were at the hospital. 

埃德里安娜：嗨，伊恩，跟我说说你第一次去医院是什么时候吧。
Ian: What, the first time I went to the hospital? 
伊恩：什么，我第一次去医院？
Adrienne: Yes, the first time. 
埃德里安娜：对，第一次。
Ian: The first time I went to hospital was when I was 13 years old and it was the day of my birthday and I had a pain in my right side and I'd been sick the day before and so on my birthday my mom phoned the hospital and the doctor decided 1 I should go to hospital and I had my appendix out. 
伊恩：我13岁时第一次去医院，那天是我的生日，我右边有点疼，而且我前一天病了，所以我妈妈在我生日那天给医院打电话，医生认为我应该去医院，然后我去做了阑尾手术。
Adrienne: OW! That sounds painful! 
埃德里安娜：哇！那听起来很痛苦！
Ian: Mm, but there's more! On my 18th birthday, I had like a lump in my throat, and I couldn't breathe properly and again my mother phoned the doctors and I went to the hospital again and my right lung had collapsed 2. 
伊恩：嗯，还有呢！我18岁生日那天，我觉得喉咙哽咽，我不能正常呼吸，于是我妈妈又给医生打了电话，然后我又一次去了医院，我的右肺闭合了。
Adrienne: Oh, my goodness! 
埃德里安娜：哦，我的天哪！
Ian: I know. I spent about 8 days in hospital and it was is Wales. I always remember being in Wales because I had problems understanding the doctor's accent, and then, are you ready, there's more. 
伊恩：我知道你的感受。我在威尔士的医院住了八天。我依然记得那是在威尔士是因为我实在听不懂医生的口音，接下来，你准备好了吗，还有更多的事情。
Adrienne: Tell me. 
埃德里安娜：跟我说说。
Ian: Again when I was 20 years old I was at university in Leeds, and again I had a lump in my throat and I had problems breathing. I went to the hospital and the same thing again. My right lung had collapsed. 
伊恩：之后我20岁时，我在利兹上大学，然后我又感到喉咙哽咽，而且再次出现了呼吸困难的问题。我去了医院，结果是因为同样的原因，我的右肺闭合了。
Adrienne: Collapsed! 
埃德里安娜：闭合！
Ian: Yes, but this time, because we were in a big city, they had more sophisticated medical equipment and they put a syringe, made a very small hole in my chest and put the syringe into my lung and drained away the excess air and my lung was inflated 3 again. 
伊恩：对，不过这次因为我们在一个大城市，他们有更先进的医疗设备，所以他们在我的胸部开了一个小洞，然后把注射器推进我的肺部，排出多余的空气，然后我的肺部就恢复正常了。
Adrienne: Did it hurt? 
埃德里安娜：那疼吗？
Ian: Not as much as the first time. And I only spent a day in hospital and then they sent me home, but there's more. A week later I had the same problem, a lump in my throat, and I had problems breathing and so I went to the hospital again and my right lung had collapsed again, for the third time, so this time the doctors decided they had to do a bigger operation to make sure that this wouldn't happen again so I was at hospital for two weeks and they cut away the top part of my lung, and stitched me back up and now my lungs are absolutely fine. I've had no problems since and I'm doing lots of running and I feel much better, but I don't want to have the same thing again. Ever! 
伊恩：不像第一次那么疼。我只在医院住了一天，之后他们就让我出院了，不过还没完。一周以后我又出现了同样的问题，喉咙哽咽、呼吸困难，于是我又去了医院，我的右肺再次闭合了，这已经是第三次了，这次医生决定他们要进行手术，以确保这种情况不会再次发生，所以我在医院住了两周的时间，他们切除了我肺部的顶部，然后又帮我缝合好，所以现在我的肺部非常健康。自那以后我再没出现过任何问题，现在我会做大量的跑步运动，我感觉好多了，当然我绝对再也不想发生这样的情况了！
Adrienne: I hope you don't either. That's amazing! 
埃德里安娜：我也希望这种情况再也不会发生了。那太让人吃惊了！
Ian: I know. The thing is, my uncle and my father had the same problems so it's probably in my genes 4, in my families genes, that we have this. It's a common family problem, but anyway, now I am OK. 
伊恩：的确是。其实是因为我爸爸和我叔叔都有同样的问题，所以这可能是我的基因，我家族的基因有这种病症。这是家族共同的问题，不过不管怎么样，我现在已经好了。
Adrienne: Wow! That's good! 
埃德里安娜：哇！那真是太好了！
