刷爆朋友圈的“杀人加湿器”最近，韩国人被一则五年前发生的公共安全事件刷爆朋友圈，这就是“加湿器杀菌剂致死事件”。据韩联社报道，截至目前，政府正式统计的因加湿器杀菌剂事件死亡者总数为239人。当时的调查发现，患者近几年平均每年使用加湿器4个月左右，每次加水时都添加杀菌剂，平均每月使用一瓶杀菌剂。

随着调查的深入，韩国三大主要的加湿器杀菌剂制造商为其生产的问题产品向公众道歉。
这是自五年前，首例加湿器致死事件(humidifier-caused death)曝光后，加湿器杀菌剂制造商(humidifier disinfectant makers)首次正式道歉(make official apologies)。三家制造商均表示将配合检方调查(cooperate with the prosecutors 2' investigation)。
三家制造商还表示将对受害者及家属作出相应赔偿(provide due compensation to the victims and their families)。据报道，由于加湿器杀菌剂引起的肺损伤(lung damages)已致数百人死亡。
