A newly commissioned vessel in China's southernmost city of Sansha has completed its first patrol in waters around the Zhongsha Islands.
The law enforcement ship embarked on a 1,200 kilometers trip Sunday and returned Monday afternoon.
During its patrol, the vessel drove away boats that were in violation of a fishing ban around Zhongsha Islands. And maritime experts on board conducted a survey of fishery resources.
Sansha City was officially established in 2012, in the island province of Hainan, to administer the Xisha, Zhongsha and Nansha groups of islands and their surrounding waters in the South China Sea.
