China Eastern Airlines has deployed 1 one chartered flight to an airport in Zhaotong county, and helicopters have also been deployed to the epicentre to transport the injured to medical facilities.
Rains and heavy smog led to several failed landing attempts by helicopters on Monday morning. Visibility improved in the afternoon, and at least 4 seriously injured people have now been transported out of the epicentre to hospitals. Helicopters are continuing to search the area for injured people.
