第523期:除了Say No, 还可以这样礼貌的婉拒他人

日常交流中不可避免地会有一些需要拒绝别人的情况，但如果只用 No, thanks 或者直白地No way来回答对方，不免有些生硬而且会比较伤害他人的感情。今天来看看我们如何委婉地用英语拒绝对方。
初级版：
1. 如何婉拒别人的邀请而不伤害对方的美意：
I’m afraid I can't. 恐怕我去不了。
Thanks for asking, but. 感谢你邀请我，但是…
I’m afraid I can't go to the movies tonight.
Thanks for asking, but I prefer staying at home tonight.
2. 吃饭时，如果自己已经吃饱（或是不想再吃更多），若是主人询问： Do you want more？你可以回答：
I think I'm good. 我已经饱了。
进阶版：
面对朋友/同事的请求，如果自己实在不方便/不愿意可以用下面的谈话技巧：
sandwich
vt. 夹入；挤进；把...做成三明治
n. 三明治；夹心面包
“赞美三明治”=正面的话+否定的话+正面的话
Sandwich your refusal between two positive statements or compliments 1.
把你的拒绝的话语夹在两句正面的话或是赞美之间。
情境一：
For example, let's suppose that your friend wants you to babysit her two children on Sunday afternoon, but you want to spend the day relaxing after a tough week at work.
例如，假设你的朋友想让你在星期天下午照看她的两个孩子，但你想在辛苦工作一周后放松一下。
You could say,
你可以说，
Thank you for asking, it's always an honor to be trusted with someone else's children! Unfortunately, I'm not free that day, so my answer has to be no.”
“谢谢你的邀请，你能这么信任地把孩子交给我真是我的荣幸！不幸的是，那天我没有空，所以我不得不说“不”。
情境二：你不想和对方约会
1. "You're an awesome 2 person. Unfortunately, I'm not interested in dating you. Someone else is going to be really lucky to date someone with such a great personality!"
“你人真的超好。不幸的是，我不想和你约会。如果有人能和你这么有魅力的人约会，那她真的很幸运！”
2. You are really a nice person. I'm interested in you as a friend. I like when we hang out in big groups together.
你是个好人。但是我只把你当朋友。我喜欢我们大家一起出去玩。
n.问候，道贺，致意；赞美（话）( compliment的名词复数 )；向…送礼以表示敬意；问候；致意v.表扬，恭维( compliment的第三人称单数 )
