【背景】
在历经了一系列剽窃风波和数月甄选之后，2020年东京奥运会组委会（Tokyo 2020 Olympic organizers）4月25日公布了新的奥运会会徽（emblem of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics/ 2020 Olympic logo）。新会徽从公开征集的1.4万多幅作品中选出，最终选定了日本传统颜色靛蓝色矩形组合（indigo-blue checkered 2 pattern）构成的“组市松纹（ichimatsu moyo）”，这种图纹在日本江户时期（the Edo period）（1603-1868）已广为人知。会徽由74岁的日本著名艺术家、设计师野老朝雄（Asao Tokolo）设计，“由3种不同类别的矩形组成，这一设计代表了不同的国家、文化和思维方式，传递出‘多元统一（unity in diversity）’的信息。”
去年7月份，东京奥组委与东京都政府公布的奥运会和残奥会的会徽因设计被指剽窃（accusations of plagiarism 3）而决定弃用（scrap）。
