Todd: Norm 1, do you like to sing?
托德：诺曼，你喜欢唱歌吗？
Norm: I wish I could sing, but no, I don't sing.
诺曼：我希望我会唱歌，可是不，我不会唱。
Todd: Yeah, OK. Neither do I. Do you like dancing?
托德：嗯，好的。我也不会。那你喜欢跳舞吗？
Norm: Yes, I do.
诺曼：是的，我喜欢。
Todd: OK. Uh..what kind of dancing do you like?
托德：好的。嗯……你喜欢跳什么类型的舞？
Norm: Oh, just not ballroom 2 dancing, but just the ordinary one, you know, the just kind of just normal...nothing special.
诺曼：哦，只要不是交际舞，就只是普通的舞蹈，你知道，就是那种普通的，没什么特别的。
Todd: Nothing special, no. OK. Do you like to cook?
托德：没什么特别的。好吧。那你喜欢烹饪吗？
Norm: Yes, I do.
诺曼：是的，我喜欢。
Todd: OK. What, what do you like to cook?
托德：好的。你喜欢烹饪什么美食？
Norm: I like to cook vegetables, yeah. Vegetables! OK.
诺曼：我喜欢烹调蔬菜。蔬菜！
Todd: And do you like to exercise?
托德：那你喜欢锻炼吗？
Norm: Very much so I go, I used to go to the gym three times a week before I arrived in Tokyo.
诺曼：我经常去锻炼，在我来东京以前，我一周去三次健身房。
Todd: OK.
托德：好的。
Norm: Yeah, I used to go to a gym, but now I just run.
诺曼：对，我过去常去健身房，但我现在只跑步。
Todd: Last one! Do you like to clean?
托德：最后一个问题！你喜欢打扫吗？
Norm: I like a clean place, but I don't really like to clean, no!
诺曼：我喜欢整洁的地方，但是我真的不喜欢打扫，不喜欢！
重点讲解：
1. Neither do I.
表示现实情况的否定。前面一句为否定句。表示我也没有，我也不那样
eg. I do not like to drink this medicine, neither does he.
我不爱喝这药水，他也不爱喝。
eg. You don't like this book. Neither do I.
你不喜欢这本书，我也不喜欢。
2. used to do
过去常常；过去曾
eg. People used to come and visit him every day.
人们过去每天都来拜访他。
eg. He used to be one of the professors at the School of Education.
他曾是教育学院的一名教授。
eg. I feel more compassion 3 and less anger than I used to.
我觉得自己比过去多了些同情，少了些怒气。
n.标准，规范，平均数
- Of his age,the child is above the norm in arithmetic.在他那个年龄，这个孩子的算术能力是超过标准的。
- These events were aberrations from the norm.这些事件不合常规。
n.舞厅
- The boss of the ballroom excused them the fee.舞厅老板给他们免费。
- I go ballroom dancing twice a week.我一个星期跳两次交际舞。
n.同情，怜悯
- He could not help having compassion for the poor creature.他情不自禁地怜悯起那个可怜的人来。
- Her heart was filled with compassion for the motherless children.她对于没有母亲的孩子们充满了怜悯心。
