托福写作中倒装句的使用

一、 表示强调:
托福写作倒装句最突出、最常见的修辞效果就是强调,其表现形式如下:
1. only +状语或状语从句置于句首,句子用部分倒装。
eg.Only in this way can you solve 1 this problem 2. 只有用这种方法,你才可以解决这个问题。
eg.Only after he had 3 spoken 4 out the word did 5 he realize 6 he had made 7 a big mistake 8.只有当他已经说出那个字后才意识到自己犯了个大错误。
二、 承上启下
有时托福写作倒装可把前一句说到的人或物,或与前一句有联系的人或物在下一句紧接着先说出来,从而使前后两句在意思上的关系更加清楚,衔接更加紧密,起到承上启下的作用。
eg.They broke 9 into her uncle's bedroom and found 10 the man lying 11 on the floor, dead 12. Around his head was 13 a brown snake. 他们破门进入她叔叔的卧室,发现他躺在地板上死了。一条棕褐色的蛇缠在他头上。
三、 制造悬念,渲染气氛
在新闻或文学创作中,有时为了内容的需要,或是为了强调,作者常常运用托福写作倒装来制造悬念,渲染气氛。如:
Hanging 14 on the wall was a splendid 15 painting 16. 墙上挂着一幅精美的图画。
v.解答(难题),解决;vt.解答,解决
- I can solve the problem.我能解决这个问题。
- This problem is too hard for me to solve.这个问题太难,我解决不了。
n.问题;难题
- The problem is ongoing.这个问题尚未解决。
- This problem is too hard for me to solve.这个问题太难,我解决不了。
vbl.have的过去式和过去分词;conj.有
- I just had a good idea!我有个好主意!
- The boy had a small branch of a tree in his hand.这个男孩手上拿一条小树枝。
adj.口语的;口说的;口头的
- His spoken English is very good.他的英语口语非常好。
- We'll hold a talk on how to improve our spoken English.我们将要举行一次关于如何提高我们的英语口语的会谈。
v.动词do的过去式
- How many goals did you score in the last game?上一场比赛你们进了几个球?
- Why did you choose basketball in the first place?你为何首先选择篮球呢?
vt.认识到;了解到,实现,使显得逼真,把…变为现金;vi. 变卖为现金
- Do you realize the importance of this question?你意识到这个问题的重要性了吗?
- He'll come to realize it one day.他总有一天会懂得这一点。
v.make的过去式和过去分词
- They were not made in china.它们不是中国制造的。
- The monkey made a long arm for the peach.猴子伸臂去摘桃子。
n.错误,误会;v.犯错,误认
- Don't make the same mistake again.不要再犯同样的错。
- I made a mistake but you should give me a chance.我犯了一次错误,但你应该给我一次机会。
v.(动词break的过去式)折断;打破
- He dropped his glass on the floor and broke it.他把玻璃杯掉到地板上打碎了。
- After a long silence, she broke into a laugh.她沉默了很久之后,忽然笑了起来。
v.建立,创立,创办;vbl.(find的过去分词)找到
- I found him at home.我发现他在家。
- The United Nations was found in 1945.联合国于1945年成立。

- He was correct in his assertion that the minister had been lying. 他认定部长说谎,事实果然如此。
- She bridled at the suggestion that she was lying. 她对暗示她在说谎的言论嗤之以鼻。

- Mary threw away the dead flowers.玛丽把枯萎的花扔掉了。
- He was dead asleep.他完全睡着了。

- He faced execution by hanging for murder. 他因谋杀要以绞刑处死。

- He got a splendid present for her.他送她一件极好的礼物。
- The play was just splendid.这出戏真是太好了。
