【背景】
五一假期刚过，有关"魏则西事件"的报道和评论就刷爆了朋友圈（overwhelm the moments）。西安电子科技大学（Xidian University）学生魏则西在两年前的体检后得知罹患"滑膜肉瘤"（synovial sarcoma）晚期，辗转求医无果。
经百度搜索，魏则西发现排在结果首位的是武警北京总队第二医院（the Second Hospital of the Beijing Armed Police Corps），该院广告称其与美国斯坦福大学合作开展生物免疫疗法（bio-immunotherapy）。但经过与美国网友确认，因有效率太低，该疗法在国外的临床阶段（clinical stage）就被淘汰了，现在美国没有医院使用这项技术。
魏则西生前公开指责百度宣传虚假医疗信息（false medical information），以及院方发布误导广告（misleading advertising），百度因此成为众矢之的（come under fire）。
