watch now to an NBC news Exclusive 1---an interview with Britain's new Prime 2 Minister Gordon Brown. After several days of meetings with the President, he is in New York this morning to give a speech at the United Nations. Earlier this morning he sat down with NBC's Brian Williams and the conversation began with Iraq.
"You've said the, (quote), "I accept the mistakes have been made in Iraq." Prime Minister, what are they?"
"Well, these are mistakes that Tony Blair and I both accepted were British mistakes. First, first of all, we did have a problem with the Intelligence that we produced for the, for the British people and that's something that we apologized for at the time. We did have an issue that I've resolved 3 now about how Intelligence is compiled 4 within government and I think people have got to be sure that it's done in a non-political, nonpartisan way. I think it was, but I think you've got to be sure that you have a system in place that has happened. So we make some changes in the way we deal with that and, and these are changes I announced in the House of Commons only a few days ago in Britain. "
And you can see the rest of Brian's exclusive interview with Prime Minister Gordon Brown. That's Tonight on NBC Nightly News.
