你知道“空气末日”吗？

十一长假期间，北京连续出现雾霾天气，空气多处于严重污染状态。不少网友戏称，世界末日没来，“空气末日”却来了。
在雾霾天气的时候，儿童、老年人、呼吸系统和心脑血管疾病等易感人群的患病率增加。从120急救中心的数据中他们发现，急救车出诊的次数明显增加。一些医院的数据也显示出，心血管疾病和呼吸系统疾病就诊人数也都有所增加。

上个月持续相当长一段时间的严重污染天气在上周又报复性回归，网友将其戏称为“空气末日”。这种污染天气从根本上改变了中国人对国内(各城市)毒空气的看法。
这里的airpocalypse和airmageddon就是“空气末日”，也可译为“末日空气”，分别由表示“世界末日”的apocalypse和armageddon两个词演化而来，意思是空气污染很严重，感觉世界末日就要来临。
为了应对严重污染的空气，不少家庭开始使用air purifier(空气净化器)
出门时也会选择佩戴air filtration face masks(空气过滤口罩)
各地政府也采取措施限制公车(government vehicles)上路。在节日期间，北京还发布fireworks index(烟花燃放指数)，提倡在空气质量不佳时少放或不放烟花。
