can, could 1, may, might 2, must 皆可表示推测，其用法如下：
1）情态动词+动词原形。
表示对现在或将来的情况的推测，此时动词通常为系动词。
I don't know where she is, she may be in Wuhan.
2）情态动词+动词现在进行时。
表示对现在或将来正在进行的情况进行推测。
At this moment, our teacher must be correcting 3 our exam 4 papers 5.
这时，我们老师想必在批改试卷。
3）情态动词+动词完成时。
表示对过去情况的推测。
We would 6 have finished 7 this work by the end of next December.
明年十二月底前我们很可能已完成这项工作了。
The road is wet. It must have rained last night.
地是湿的，昨天晚上一定下雨了。
4）情态动词+动词的现在完成进行时。
表示对过去正在发生事情的推测。
Your mother must have been looking for you.
你妈妈一定一直在找你。
5）推测的否定形式，疑问形式用can't, couldn't表示。
Mike can't have found 8 his car, for he came 9 to work by bus this morning.
迈克一定还没有找回他的车，因为早上他是坐公共汽车来上班的。
注意：could, might表示推测时不表示时态，其推测的程度不如can, may。
v.能，可能(can的过去式)；aux.v.(can的过去式)能；可以
- Could I open the window?我可以打开窗子吗？
- I could wait ten minutes.我可以等十分钟。
aux./v.(may的过去式)可能；可以，允许
- It looks as if it might snow.看起来好像要下雪了。
- Might I ask a question?我能问个问题吗？
v.改正( correct的现在分词 )；[数学、物理学]校正；（试卷）改错；批改
- The economic market is a self-correcting mechanism, that does not need regulation by government. 经济市场是一种自动调节的机制，不需要政府调控。
- He spent much time correcting my grammar. 他花了很多时间来改我的语法错误。 来自《简明英汉词典》
n.(=examination)检查；考试
- I hope to pass this exam.我希望通过这次考试。
- His exam results were good.他的测验成绩不错。
n.文件，纸币，论文
- I want to check with my secretary before I sign the papers.在签署这些文件前，我要与我的秘书商议。
- The lawyer read all the papers relating to the case.律师阅读了与该案有关的全部文件。
aux.will的过去式；愿，要；常常；大概；将要，会
- Why would you say that?为什么你会这么说？
- Would you please help me?你能帮帮我吗？
adj.完成的，精湛的；v.动词finish的过去式和过去分词
- We finished up everything there was on the table. 我们把桌上的东西全吃完了。
- We can certainly have the job finished on time.我们肯定能按时完成任务。
v.建立，创立，创办；vbl.(find的过去分词)找到
- I found him at home.我发现他在家。
- The United Nations was found in 1945.联合国于1945年成立。
