CCTV9英语新闻：长江沉船遇难人数升至434人 失踪人员还剩8人

We begin with the search operations on the Yangtze River after a Chinese cruise ship capsized with hundreds of passengers last week. Only 14 people survived.

 

Two more bodies were found on Monday morning, bringing the number of deaths to 434. 8 people remain unaccounted for. 

 

Search teams are extending their scope, with thousands scanning a 1,400 kilometer area along the river. Two helicopters are also deployed 1.

 

Military forces are working at the wreckage 2 site, handling the victims' remains 3, as well as disassembling the damaged ship and taking measures to prevent any epidemic 4 outbreaks.

 

The civil affairs ministry 5 is coordinating 6 work such as helping 7 the relatives, identifying the dead through DNA 8 testing and arranging funeral services. About 1,500 family members of the victims are now in Jianli County near the site of the disaster.
