Local authorities have been briefing the media about the latest from the scene of the Eastern Ship capsize, and head of Jianli county Huang Zhen told the media that the search operation is still ongoing.
He said because of Jinali’s limited capacity, some of the bodies had been transferred to neighboring counties. Meanwhile, one-on-one counseling sessions are continuing for the family members.
Many are going down to the river-side to pay their respects. Huang also said that extensive work is being carried out to match DNA samples with the unidentified bodies, but this is expected to be completed in the coming days. Family members would be expected to see the bodies soon after.
